University of Minnesota Duluth


After experiencing flat enrollment numbers in 2015, The University of Minnesota Duluth needed a brand campaign update that would rejuvenate pride and build awareness/interest with prospective students. While differentiating for UMD, the new Wingnut campaign also needed to build nicely from the broader University of Minnesota campaign, “Driven To Discover.”  In 2016, Wingnut developed a campaign that expressed the real connection that UMD students build with each other, faculty and their natural Northern surroundings. The new campaign has enjoyed strong internal support and 2017 applications are already on the rise.
